Lori’s passion is creating and teaching Mindfulness Based Therapeutic Yoga Tools to foster nourishing Self-Other Care practices focusing on the needs of individuals, groups, mental health clinicians, treatment centers, conferences, and universities. She has seen the powerful effect of this practice, personally and professionally for many years, for calming the nervous system, fostering self-body acceptance, and developing strategies that lessen stress patterns in the mind and body.
Lori is a Certified Master Level Yoga Teacher/Therapist (CYT) with 500+ hours in Healing Emphasis Yoga Therapeutics along with training in trauma informed practices over many years. In addition, she has a wealth of experience from a background as a mental health clinician and educator with over 30 years with specialties in various areas such as disordered eating/body image struggles, anxiety, codependency, and trauma.
Lori founded Yoga Nourishment with a base in yogic philosophy-psychology and a sprinkle of modern-day neuroscience. She has created her own unique and creative blend of this healing-oriented practice (breathing and stress release tools, embodied postures to calm, ground, focus, and intentional mindset direction) which has been empowering for many.
Her expertise and teaching style has been highlighted in the published book chapter Yoga and Eating Disorders: Ancient Healing for Modern Illness with Carolyn Costin and Joe Kelly. She has also been a guest educator on several podcasts including: Curious about Recovery: Yoga and Eating Disorders and Calm Your Nervous System Naturally with Healing Cassandra.
Her coaching toolbox of Yoga Nourishment education and Mindfulness Based Therapeutic Yoga Tools are effective healing-oriented modalities designed as action-oriented strategies to lessen stress on your mind and body, and create systems/practices that bring more calm, comfort, ease, and joy to your life.
Along with her love for yoga, she enjoys hiking and a great cup of coffee with friends, traveling, sunset drives, connecting with family and continuing to learn.
Lori’s passion for fostering nourishing self-other care practices for others with her blend of therapeutic yoga tools and education for health and wellness practices, IS her Svadharma (Path). She is looking forward to helping you find your path of wellness.
